Stonehenge Golf & Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Richmond, Virginia.
The course first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Ed Ault.
Stonehenge has tight, tree-lined fairways and small greens. There are five water hazards that come into play on seven holes.
The 200 acres of rolling countryside known today as Stonehenge Golf & Country Club was originally the site of the Stonehenge Mines? First discovered in the area in the early 1700’s, coal from the deep shafts of the Stonehenge mines supplied the Continental Army with fuel that was used in making cannon shot and shells during the Revolutionary War. Today the mines, which still exist below the property, contain natural water, which is used to irrigate the course.
